Lisa R. Levine

LISA LEVINE is a registered governmental affairs agent and works in the firm’s Trenton Office, representing trade associations, insurance companies and individuals before various Departments of State and the Legislature.

After starting her career as an attorney with the Federal Trade Commission, she joined the NJ Division of Law and Public Safety as a Deputy Attorney General, representing the Department of Banking and Insurance, where she developed regulations, litigated matters involving producer license revocations and represented the Commissioner as Liquidator of various insolvent insurers. Ms. Levine was closely involved with the rehabilitation of Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company.

Ms. Levine subsequently joined the NJ Department of Banking and Insurance to serve as Executive Director of the Unsatisfied Claim and Judgment Fund, where she managed the UCJF’s administration and policy development and its $250 million annual budget. Ms. Levine was appointed the Department’s Director of Financial Solvency, where she was responsible for negotiating the terms of insurance company withdrawals and overseeing the operations and management of financially troubled or insolvent New Jersey domiciled insurers.

Ms. Levine left the Department of Banking and Insurance in 2000 to form her own consulting firm, providing advice to law firms and insurers regarding regulatory matters.

Ms. Levine has served as a panelist for the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Insurance Council of New Jersey relating to topics from lobbying to insurance law.

Ms. Levine graduated Rutgers College with High Honors, participated in the Henry Rutgers Honors Program and the Eagleton Institute of Politics Associates Program and was a recipient of the Edward McNall Burns Award in Political Science.  She received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Ms. Levine lives in Stockton, New Jersey with her husband and two children and is currently serving her third elected term as a Stockton Borough School District Board member.
