H. Steven Berkowitz
H. STEVEN BERKOWITZ was admitted to the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bars in 1982. He graduated from the University of Rochester with degrees in Political Science and Biology, and received his law degree from the Villanova University School of Law.
Mr. Berkowitz has extensive experience in a broad range of insurance coverage issues, as well as all aspects of personal injury; including automobile, premises, dram shop, and products liability. Mr. Berkowitz has litigated wrongful death, and numerous PIP, UM/UIM and workers’ compensation claims. He has also litigated claims against public entities, defended automobile dealerships against Consumer Fraud suits, and arbitrated and litigated construction disputes. As a prosecutor, Mr. Berkowitz drafted guidelines for police departments for use in bad check and similar fraud investigations. Since joining Pringle Quinn Anzano, P.C., in January of 1998, Mr. Berkowitz has been assigned to the Firm’s insurance fraud practice, with particular emphasis on complex claims involving staged accidents and medical provider fraud.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Berkowitz has served as an Assistant Municipal Prosecutor and as a Supervising Assistant County Prosecutor where he headed the Arson Unit and the Asset Forfeiture Unit. In 1998, Mr. Berkowitz was appointed by the Township of Lakewood as the Lakewood Public Defender in 1998 and continues to serve in that position.
