PQA Obtains $19 Million Judgment for Insurance Company Client
PQA filed the suit against a chiropractor and numerous corporations he owned and operated in 2002, and conducted extensive discovery in connection with the suit. PQA attorneys were successful in establishing that the chiropractor and his corporations fraudulently obtained personal injury protection benefits from the insurance company. PQA’s client was awarded compensatory damages, as well as investigative costs, attorneys’ fees, costs of suit, and treble damages pursuant to the New Jersey Insurance Fraud Prevention Act. The chiropractor has since filed an appeal of the award. PQA has filed a separate action against the chiropractor and certain family members under the Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act (UFTA) to block the alleged fraudulent transfer of the chiropractor’s assets.
